
IJM Secures RM658 Million Data Centre Contract in Selangor
IJM Corporation Berhad has been awarded a RM658.01 million contract to develop a hyperscale data centre in Selangor, reinforcing its presence in Malaysia’s fast-growing digital infrastructure sector.
The contract was secured through its wholly owned subsidiary, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, which accepted a letter of award from Sime Darby Property. The project will be located within Elmina Business Park, a key industrial and technology hub.
Project Scope and Timeline
The development involves the construction of the core and shell of a hyperscale data centre, including supporting infrastructure and ancillary facilities. The scope also covers testing and commissioning works upon completion.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with completion targeted by the third quarter of 2027.
Strengthening IJM’s Data Centre Portfolio
This marks IJM’s second contract within the Elmina data centre development, bringing its total project value at the site to over RM1.9 billion.
The contract was awarded through a competitive tender process, where multiple contractors were evaluated based on technical capabilities, commercial strength, and past project performance
Financial Impact and Industry Significance
IJM expects the project to contribute positively to its revenue and earnings from the financial year ending 2027 onwards.
The win highlights growing demand for hyperscale data centres in Malaysia, driven by digital transformation, cloud adoption, and increasing data consumption. Developments like Elmina Business Park are positioning Selangor as a key destination for regional data infrastructure investments.
